Abstract
This reseach aims to describe the characteristics of students' language politeness, teacher assistance, and the difficulties of teacher assistance in students' language politeness. The benefits are as a reference and increase teacher competence in terms of assisting students in polite language. The focus of the research is the Hizbul Wathan (HW) Scouting program at Muhammadiyah Elementary School, the Andong Special Program. The research method used is the method of observation, interviews, and documentation. Test the validity of the data in this study using triangulation of sources and data. The data analysis technique uses data reduction, data presentation, and Verification. The results of the research found: (1) Characteristics of politeness in the language of students are more dominated by polite students. Characteristics of students' language politeness in HW activities can be seen in terms of greeting, asking for permission, lending goods, being humble when praised, compact in kindness, and sympathy for friends. (2) Characteristics of teacher assistance on language politeness of students in HW at SD Muhammadiyah PK Andong are classified into 3 : exemplary, advice, and display of hadith (3) Characteristics of difficulties in mentoring include difficulty monitoring students who are not under teacher supervision, some parents are reluctant role, differences in the level of sensitivity of teachers.
