Abstract
This study aims to describe, identify obstacles, and efforts to overcome the teacher's role in instilling the character of responsibility in students during online learning. This study used descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this study were the principal and teacher of Pancasila and Citizenship Education at SMP Muhammadiyah Al Kautsar Kartasura Special Program. Data collection techniques in this study using interviews, observation, and documentation. The validity of the data uses two kinds of triang ulation, namely technical triangulation and source triangulation. Data analysis was carried out by applying an interactive model. The indicators of the character of responsibility used in this study are: 1) obedience to the rules, 2) obedience in doing tasks, 3) obedience to learning activities at home, 4) completing work according to the set time, 5) Serious in doing something, 6) Serious and diligent during the learning process. The results showed that Pancasila and Citizenship Education teachers at Muhammadiyah Al Kautsar Middle School Kartasura Special Program played a role in instilling the character of responsibility in students when learning online through learning activities or collecting school assignments. The obstacles experienced by Pancasila and Citizenship Education teachers in instilling the character of responsibility in students during online learning are the limited space and time during learning which causes the teacher's role in instilling the character of responsibility to be less than optimal. Efforts to overcome teacher barriers in instilling the character of responsibility in students during online learning are by looking at student involvement during the learning process, providing examples for students to be on time in following the learning process, seeing student activity during learning, seeing answers to assignments done by students , and impose deadlines for collecting assignments so that students get used to doing something according to the specified time limit. Based on this conclusion, it has implications if Pancasila and Citizenship Education teachers want to instill the character of responsibility in students when learning online. then students can be involved in the learning process, familiarize and model behavior that reflects an attitude of responsibility.
