Abstract
This study aims to identify and describe the types of code mixing and the reason for the use of code mixing used on the Rapma Fm Podcast in two segments, namely Teksas and Classic night. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. The data of this research are in the form collected from podcast rapma fm using recording. The data are then analyzed to identify the types of code mixing, by using the theory of Muysken( 2000). In addition, to explain the reasons for the use of code mixing, the researcher uses the theory of Hoffman (1991). The results of this study found that there were three types of code mixing found by the researcher in this research paper, namely insertion ((word (30%), phrase (40%),), substitution (clause (15%),) , congruent lexicalization (Idiom 15%). Based on the percentage, it can be concluded that the highest frequency data on the type of code mixing in this study is Insertion (words (30%) phrases (40%).) This study uses word insertion, which is 18 of 40 data (45%), while the dominant reason is to talk about certain topics (20%), being empathetic to something (30%), exclamations (10%), repetition is used for clarification. (10%), to reveal group identity (30%). Based on this percentage, it can be concluded that the highest frequency data that is the reason for using code mixing in this study is empathy for something (30%), and to express group identity (30%).
