Abstract
Income inequality is an aspect of poverty that must be considered because it is basically a measure of relative poverty, namely the calculation of poverty based on the proportion of regional income distribution. Income inequality tends to occur in countries that are just starting to develop, while for developed countries or higher income levels they tend to be evenly distributed or have low levels of inequality. The impact of income inequality can affect the continuity of development, especially economic development. Income inequality can be measured using the Gini index, where in September 2019 the Province of D.I Yogyakarta ranked 1st with the highest Gini ratio value or number. This study aims to analyze the Gini Ratio and the factors that influence it in the Special Region of Yogyakarta for the period 2014-2019. This research is a quantitative study. The variables used in this study are the Gini Ratio, PDRB, population, and education. The analysis used is panel data regression in the form of Cross section 5 Regency/City data in Yogyakarta D.I Province and time series data for 2014-2019.
