Abstract

Resilience is a person's ability to adapt when in a stressful or difficult situation. The existence of the Covid-19 pandemic has caused teachers to experience various kinds of difficulties in teaching and learning activities so that teachers must have good resilience so that learning can continue. This study aims to describe the resilience of elementary school teachers in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. The subjects in this study were elementary school teachers in the Karanganyar area, totaling 4 people with 3 women and 1 boy. The sample collection technique in this study used a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of an elementary school teacher teaching in grades 1, 3, 5 and 6 with online or distance learning during the pandemic. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Data collection in the study was obtained using semi-structured interviews. The results obtained from this study show an overview of the resilience of elementary school teachers when teaching in the midst of a pandemic. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused various kinds of obstacles in online learning. In the face of online obstacles, the subject continues to make various efforts so that online learning can continue. The success of the efforts made is influenced by several factors, namely a sense of responsibility, motivation from within and support from the surrounding environment. Online learning also has a positive impact on teachers and students because it can increase their understanding of technology and make learning time more flexible. So in this case the subject can be said to be a resilient individual because he is able to adapt in difficult circumstances even though the efforts made have not been running optimally.
