Abstract
The Covid-19 pandemic that emerged at the end of 2019 until the present has changed a lot of people’s daily activities, this has led to many psychological problems that can make a person experience insomnia, where insomnia is a sleep disorder where a person has difficulty sleeping or maintaining sleep. This study aims to identify and describe insomnia during the pandemic in early adulthood in Serengan District. The formulation of insomnia exerinced by the community in early adulthood (18 – 25) during the covid-19 pandemicin Serengan District. The subject s in this study are people who live in Serengan District, 18 – 25 years old, have insomnia symptoms, with a total of 207 respondents. This study uses a purposive sampling technique with a data collection tool, namely the Insomnia Severity Index Scale (ISI). The ISI Scale has seven items. Data analysis used descriptive crosstabulation analysis using SPSS for Windows program. The results showed that 12,6% had no detectable insomnia, 46,9% had mild insomnia, 39,1% had moderate insomnia, and 1,4% had severe insomnia. Problems experienced by insomniacs are difficulty initiating sleep in the moderate category (44,0%), difficulty maintaining sleep in the moderate category (32,9%), waking up in the dissatisfied category (35,7%), the appearance of sleep disturbance by others in the visible category (31,9%), being worried about sleep problems in the category (32,9%), the effect of sleep problems on daily activities in the category influential (37,2%). The result of the independent sample t-test the value sig. (2-tailed) of 0,193 (p > 0,05) which means that there is no significant difference between the sex of men and women.
