Abstract
This study aims to describe (1) the structure of the novel Aroma Karsa by Dee Lestari, (2) the myths contained in the novel, and (3) the potential of myths to be used as teaching materials for narrative texts in high school. Research data in the form of sentences and paragraphs containing myths and KIKD of literary learning in high school, the source of research data is the novel Aroma Kersa by Dee Lestari, data collection techniques using literature study, note and listen The data validation technique uses Theory Triangulation. The data analysis technique used Hermeneutic and Heuristic reading techniques. The results of the research are as follows: (1) the theme of the novel is adventure, there are 18 novel characters, the plot used is a mixture, the setting of the novel is Yogyakarta when Raras was small, Bantar Gebang where teak lived, Paris when Jati was in training, and Karang Anyar when he was young. expedition, this novel uses various figures of speech but the most widely used are 6 figures of speech, the point of view of the novel is the third person point of view, the message in the novel is that we should always be grateful for everything that happens to us, bad or good, (2) myths in the novel are twofold. kinds, namely in the form of a story about the flower of Puspa Karsa and in the form of a belief about the supernatural being of Mount Lawu, 3) the results of research on myths in novels have the potential to be teaching materials to identify the structure of narrative texts and retell narrative texts.
