Abstract

Study aim: (1) Describethe p Application reward and punishment to improve the character of the discipline of students in SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Surakarta . (2) Describe the advantages and dis advantages of the implementation of reward and punishment to improve the discipline of students in SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Surakarta. Study is using methods research descriptive qualitative . The research subjects were the principal, teachers, parents and new students. The data were collected through observation, participants, in-depth interviews and documentation. The technique used to measure the validity of the data was triangulation. The researcher acted as an instrument. Analysis of the data held since the data collected , by using model interactive which consists of three parts :1.data collection 2.data reduce ; 3.data presenting ; 4. Conclusion. Results of the study showed that the implementation of reward and punishment in SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Surakarta has lasted appropriate norms of education. Almost the majority of students who excel academically and non-academic receive rewards as well as students who violate school rules receive punishment according to their level of error The conclusions of the study is that aplication reward and punishment to improve students of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Surakarta already running with baik. reward and punishment given to students to reward with gifts, praise, rewards, while punishment to give warning, punishment and recall parent.
