Abstract
The purpose of this study is to describe student participation and parental support for online mathematics learning at SMP Negeri 1 Gatak. The type of the research is a qualitative descriptive study with the subject of class VIII A and VIII B students of SMP Negeri 1 Gatak. Data collection was taken using questionnaires, interviews, and documentation techniques. The results showed that: 1) Students with high participation and high parental support are able to meet all indicators of student participation and meet all indicators of parental support. 2) Students with high participation and moderate parental support were able to meet all indicators of student participation and meet all indicators of parental support. 3) Students with moderate participation and high parental support are able to meet the indicators of student participation, namely asking questions, expressing opinions, and following lessons well but are less able to answer questions and do assignments and students meet all indicators of parental support. 4) Students with moderate participation and moderate parental support are able to meet the indicators of student participation, namely expressing opinions and following lessons well but are less able to ask questions, answer questions, and do assignments and fulfill all indicators of parental support. 5) Students with moderate participation and low parental support were able to meet the indicators of student participation, namely asking and following lessons well but lacking in indicators of answering questions, expressing opinions, and doing assignments and lacking in fulfilling indicators of parental support, namely emotional support, instrumental support, and informative support. 6) Students with low participation and moderate parental support were not able to fulfill all indicators of student participation and were less able to fulfill all indicators of parental support, namely emotional support, reward support, instrumental support, and informative support. 7) Students with low participation and low parental support are not able to meet all indicators of student participation and are not able to meet all indicators of parental support.
