Abstract
Education is an investment in knowledge that will never end, in fact along with the times Education is mandatory because it will form a personality in a person, Education can be achieved by using formal and non-formal channels, one of the non-formal educations in Dusun Ganoman Desa Koripan, Matesih Subdistrict, Karanganyar Regency is the Al-Hidayah Ganoman Islamic Boarding School which has several character formations.The topic in this problem is how the method of character building in Islamic boarding schools and what are the supporters and obstacles in the Al Hidayah Islamic Boarding School in an effort to build character. The method used in this paper is qualitative. Using data collection techniques with interviews, observation and documentation, data analysis using qualitative descriptive techniques.Based on the results of research and data analysis that has been carried out, it can be said that the method used at Al-Hidayah Islamic Boarding School is a three-success method, namely Alim Faqih, Ahlakul Karimah, Mandiri and has several separate clusters in it. The supporting and inhibiting factors in the Al-Hidayah Islamic Boarding School are the graduation of prospective preachers who are ready to be assigned to each region in Java and outside Java, with knowledge and the Koran that have been studied by Selma ad Al-Hidayah Islamic Boarding School, but the resources that need to be improved in order to maximize learning.
