Abstract

The abuse of narcotics or illegal drugs is currently a problem that really needs attention because of the increasing number of Indonesians who are addicted to using illegal drugs. Rehabilitation is an effort to save drug users form dependence. According to the National Narcotics Agency of Central Java, Solo is one of the cities with a high number of narcotics abuse cases, and most of the main factors causing someone to abuse narcotics are their psychological factors who are not well, while in Solo there is no place for the rehabilitation of narcotics addicts that focuses on psychologically healing narcotics abuse victims by including the role of architecture as a forum that can help the rehabilitation process. These are the backgrounds in planning and designing the narcotics addict rehabilitation center in Solo, with a focus on types of psychosocial interventions and environmental healing approaches. It is felt that the aplication of the healing environment approach will be very appropriate in assisting the healing process of the victims of addicton to narcotics and illegal drugs. The planning proccess in realizing this narcotics addict rehabilitation center is in the form of design ideas, site concepts, space concepts, building mass concepts, building appearance concepts, healing environment concepts, then building structure and utility concepts. With the design of this rehabilitation center, it is hoped that it can become a rehabilitation place capable pf handling illegal drug users according to their level of addiction and not only as a rehabilitation place that isolates patients so that their psyche is getting worse.
