Abstract

Teachers have an important role in the successful implementation of learning, therefore to achieve success in learning, the steps that must be taken by teachers one of which is to develop learning tools. This study aims to find out: 1) Teacher understanding of learning devices, 2) Problems experienced by teachers in the preparation of learning devices, 3) Obstacles experienced by teachers in the preparation of learning devices, 4) Efforts made by teachers in addressing problems in the preparation of learning devices at Kasihan 2 Elementary school. This qualitative research uses data collection techniques, namely interviews and documentation by making the principal and class teachers informants. Data analysis used is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity techniques using source triangulation and techniques. The results of the study showed: 1) Teachers already understand learning tools well 2) Teachers experience some problems such as: teachers only download RPP from the internet, teachers have difficulty in determining media, methods, strategies, indicators and allocation of learning time. 3) Teachers experience obstacles such as: depth and breadth of materials, limited time and school facilities, teaching experience, differences in student characteristics, and lack of motivation and understanding of teachers in assessment. 4) Efforts made by teachers are: discussing with colleagues, finding information from the internet, compiling RPP at once for several meetings, and using simple media that are around.
