Abstract

Bullying is an act that still often happens among teenagers environment. Bullying can be done by a group with an individual or an individual with an individual that can cause psychological trauma and physical injury. “An Analysis Bullying Faced by August Pullman in Wonder Movie 2017: A Psychoanalytic Approach” the author was chosen this title because wants to know the kinds of bullying in the movie. Bullying in the Wonder movie is very interesting to discuss, the Wonder movie directed by Stephen Chbosky is based on a novel by RJ Palacio. The main character is August Pullman or Auggie the boy who has a birth defect in his face named Treacher Collins Syndrome. The technique in this study using by literature. This study aimed to analyze the kinds of bullying that received August Pullman by his friends in school and the character elements Id, Ego, and Superego by using psychoanalytic theory by Sigmund Freud. The result of this study shows that verbal bullying is the main bullying that received by August Pullman. The two data sources used namely primary data taken from the movie and secondary data sources from website, previous studies, journal, thesis that related to this research.
