Abstract
The current problem in society nowadays is the high level of unemployment that comes from vocational school graduates. The problem caused by there’s many people that graduates from vocational schools who’s not ready to enter the work-life. This research aims to determine the relationship between self-directed learning with work readiness of students in Vocational High School. The hypothesis purpose is there is about positive relationship between self-directed learning with work readiness of students in Vocational High School. This research used quantitative correlation method that used the work readiness scale and the self-directed learning scale for the measuring instrument. The research sample amounted to 100 students from 11th grade in SMK N 2 Sukoharjo. The sampling technique that used is simple random sampling. The data analysis technique that used is the product-moment correlation technique by Pearson. Based on the results of data analysis obtained r = 0.846 with a sig. value p=0.00 which means there is a significant positive relationship between self-directed learning with work readiness of students in Vocational High School. Based on the categorization result, the levels of self-directed learning and work readiness are classified as high.
