Abstract

In learning activities, teachers are not only required to deliver learning, but also required to be creative and innovative. It aims to prevent students from being saturated with teachers when delivering learning materials. In a learning process, there are two very important elements, namely, learning methods and media. At SD Negeri 05, learning quality is still lacking, this is due to the lack of innovation of teachers in developing learning media. The lack of innovation in the learning process will affect the learning outcomes of learners, especially the cognitive learning outcomes of learners. Therefore, further research was conducted on the media of hero puppet and hero stories in measuring the cognitive learning outcomes of students at SD Negeri 05 Kuto grade IV. The objectives of this study are: 1) To compare the difference between the average pretest and posttest results of students after applying hero puppet media; 2) To compare the difference between the average pretest results and posttest students after applying media hero stories; 3) To compare the difference between the average student posttest results after applying hero puppet media with the hero story media. This research uses quantitative approach and uses pseudo experiment research design as well as data analysis with comparative data. Teknik collecting data in the form of tests and documentation, then using statistical tests Paired Sample T-Test and Pooled Variance T- Test.. with the result tcount = |-13,619| ≥ ttable = 2,201, then Ho rejected,; 2) tcount = |-9,014| ≥ ttabel = 2,201, ho was rejected; 3) The result of tcount = |-1,147| ≤ ttable = 2,074, then Ho is accepted. Conclusions in this study: 1) there is a difference between the average pretest and posttest results of students after the applied hero puppet media, 2) there is a difference between the average pretest results and the student posttest after applying the hero story media, 3) There is no difference between the average student post test results after applying the hero puppet media with the hero's story to the cognitive learning outcomes of grade IV students of SD Negeri 05 Kuto.
