Abstract
The study aims to describe the application, effectiveness, constraints, and solutions to the use of audio-visual media through Whatsapp Group to improve understanding of God’s Almighty values in VII-A students of Junior High School Muhammadiyah 4 Surakarta. This study uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches (mixing methods). The qualitative approach design uses case studies, while the quantitative use pre-experimental with One Group Pre-test Post-test Design. Interview and observation are used as qualitative data collection techniques, while tests are used for quantitative data collection. The validity test item of the qualitative data used triangulation of sources and techniques, while the validity of the quantitative data used the test instrument validity test in this study by using the Correlation Product Moment formula, rough numbers, and the reliability test of the test instruments using the KR 20 formula. Data analysis in the qualitative approach used a flow model, while the quantitative approach using the T-Test test. The results of the T-Test of this study indicate that tcount 36.575 is greater than ttable 1.470 with a significance level of 0.05. The pre-test average value of 16.47 increased to 52.35 in the post-test. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the hypothesis proposed by Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, it means that there is a difference in understanding of the values of the God’s Almighty values before (Pre-test) and after being given action (Post-test) in using audio-visual media through Whatsapp Group to the VII-A students at Junior High School Muhammadiyah 4 Surakarta on 2020/2021 school year. This difference shows an increase in the values of Indonesian democracy between before (pretest) and after treatment (postest). The obstacle faced is time constraints when did this research. An alternative solution to overcome these obstacles is that the researcher starts earlier than the research schedule and makes the best use of the time. The conclusion above has implications, if we want to increase the understanding of the God’s Almighty values, then the way which can do is by using audio-visual media through the Whatsapp Group.
