Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic is an extraordinary new thing, so that it has an impact on the global world. The aspects affected are the educational aspect, the social aspect, the economic aspect, and others. Komnas Perempuan's national survey of 2,285 respondents, 96% of women admitted that housework has increased since working from home, and mothers have to accompany their children and become teachers while studying from home. For mothers who work in government institutions, organizations, companies, the challenges will be even greater. She must be able to be a worker, teacher and mother at the same time. This situation resulted in a lack of work-life balance for working mothers during the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study was to understand the work-life balance of working mothers during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative descriptive phenomenological study. The method used in collecting this data is through an open ended questionnaire using google form. Research respondents were determined using purposive sampling. The criteria for respondents in this study are respondents who live in Soloraya (Surakarta, Sukoharjo, Klaten, Sragen, Karanganyar, Boyolali), work in formal companies/organizations/institutions, are married and have children who are still in elementary school. The data analysis technique used in this research is thematic analysis technique. The technique of strengthening credibility and validity is using member checking. Mothers who worked during the COVID-19 pandemic in Soloraya in this study fulfilled 3 aspects of work-life balance, namely the first aspect of time balance, involment balance, and time balance. The factors that affect work-life balance encountered in this study are social support and self-management.
