Abstract

This study aims to stimulate the speaking of children in group A Islam Mardisiwi Kindergarten 2018/2019 school year through the handpuppet storytelling method. Subjects in the study were group A students in Mardisiwi Islamic Kindergarten 2018/2019 school year. This type of research is a classroom action research (CAR) carried out in two cycles with two meetings per cycle. Research procedures in each cycle there are several stages, namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Data obtained using the method of observation, interviews and documentation. The validity of the data using triangulation by finding data from various data sources based on the results of research conducted in cycle I and cycle II showed an increase in the ability of speaking children in group A Islamic kindergarten Mardisiwi Surakarta in the academic year 2018/2019. This can be obtained from before the implementation of the cycle results 42.1%, the first cycle of 71.3%, the second cycle of 89.7%. the conclusion of the results of this study is that through the handpuppet storytelling method can improve the speaking ability of children in group A Islamic Mardisiwi Kindergarten Surakarta in the academic year 2018/2019.
