Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the skills of teachers in PPKn learning which were reviewed in: 1) Skills in opening learning activities, 2) Skills in developing learning material concepts 3) Skills to close learning activities by teachers at MI Muhammadiyah Kartasura Special Program. This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach design. The subjects of this study were the principal, deputy head of the curriculum, upper class teachers and lower class teachers. Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, observation and documentation. The data validity technique in this study used source triangulation with technical triangulation. Data analysis used a phenomenological perspective model with the process of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that: 1) The implementation of teacher skills in opening PPKn learning was shown by the success of the teacher in attracting students' attention, fostering student motivation, making material links with alpha zone activities and scene setting developing the concept of learning material from abstract to concrete concepts, using variations of instructional media 3) Implementation of teacher skills in closing learning is carried out with teacher activities, making learning reflections, concluding material, conducting evaluations and planning follow-up to students.
