Abstract
The difference in cognitive thinking between male and female learners is highly visible and affects their learning outcomes. One of the most visible influences is the creative thinking ability of mathematics learners. The purpose of the research in this article is two 1) Analyzing and describing the ability of creative thinking of men in solving open ended problems. 2) Analyze and describe women's creative thinking skills in solving open ended problems. This research is qualitative research with the research subject of 63 students of grade VII SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Masaran. Data collection is done with tests, interviews, and documentation. Data validation using triangulation is a technique and source. Data analysis techniques use interactive methods consisting of reduction, presentation, and drawing of conclusions. The results of the study in this article are two 1) Male students with high mathematical creative thinking skills are able to understand the problem well and can use their own way appropriately, male students with mathematical creative thinking skills are only able to solve problems in one way, and male students with low mathematical creative thinking skills have not been able to solve all the questions correctly; 2) Female students with high mathematical creative thinking skills are able to find alternative answers and answer all questions appropriately, female students with mathematical creative thinking skills are able to understand the problem well by systematically answering questions, and female students with low mathematical creative thinking skills are only able to answer one question using existing means.
