Abstract
Covid-19 is a disease caused by SARS-CoV-2. SARS-CoV-2 is the name of the virus (a type of corona virus) which was first identified at the end of 2019. The current Covid-19 outbreak raises concerns for breastfeeding mothers, this concern is related to anecdotal reports in local, international news, and in social media posts it is shared globally that breastfeeding is a medium of transmission for covid-19. It is feared that lactation during the Covid-19 pandemic has decreased due to the lack of information that is known by breastfeeding mothers, so it needs to be studied related to the knowledge of breastfeeding mothers. This study aims to determine the knowledge of breastfeeding mothers about lactation management during the Covid-19 pandemic at the Jayengan Public Health Center, Serengan District. This type of research is a quantitative study with a descriptive survey research design. The population of this study were all mothers breastfeeding infants 0-6 months at the Jayengan Public Health Center totaling 103. The study sample was 51 samples with purposive sampling technique. Data collection using online questionnaires and data analysis with frequency distribution. This study concluded that the characteristics of breastfeeding mothers in Puskemas Jayengan are mostly 26-35 years old, have high school education / equivalent, work as housewives, and the majority are quite well informed. Suggestions for breastfeeding mothers are expected to pay more attention to health information, especially about lactation management during the Covid-19 pandemic, because lactation management is a factor in determining the success of exclusive breastfeeding.
