Abstract

This study aims to determine: (1) to analyze and test the significant effect of the learning model (TAI and GI) on mathematics learning outcomes. (2) analyzing and examining the significant influence between the characteristics of student learning styles on mathematics learning outcomes. (3) analyzing and testing the interaction of the mathematics learning model with the characteristics of students' learning styles on learning outcomes. This type of quantitative research with a quasi- experimental design. The research sample consisted of two classes (experiment 1 and experiment 2) which were taken by means of cluster random sampling from the population of all class VIII students of SMP Negeri 19 Surakarta in the 2019/2020 school year. The data collection instruments were questionnaires and tests. Before doing the research, first a balance test is carried out to find out that both samples have the same initial ability. The normality test and homogeneity test are the prerequisite tests for analysis in this study. The data analysis technique used a two- way variance analysis of different cells with a significance level of 5%. The results of this study were obtained: (1) there were differences in the mathematics learning outcomes of students who were given learning using the TAI learning model and the GI learning model. The TAI learning model has a better effect than the GI learning model (2) there is no effect of student learning styles on mathematics learning outcomes. (3) there is no interaction between learning models and student learning styles on mathematics learning outcomes
