Abstract

The focus of this research was to describe the implementation, related roles and to describe the driving and inhibiting factors in the implementation of madrasah-based quality improvement management in improving the quality of learning outcomes at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah I and II in Kradenan, Srumbung, Magelang. The applied methodology was field research with the qualitative approach. Consequently, the data collection was through interviews, observation, and documentation. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique or data interpretation was by qualitative descriptive analysis technique. To examine the data validity, the credibility, transferability, dependability and confirmability tests were carried out. The result showed four implemented quality improvement programs, they were school review, benchmarking, quality assurance, and quality control. Additionally, the role of stakeholders in helping this management implementation is visible in collaboration with the principal. In carrying out the management implementation, there are driving factors including school committees, local community leaders, teachers who are very enthusiastic about making madrasas superior in both academic and non-academic fields. In addition to the driving factor, there are inhibiting factors, including the lack of existing education personnel, limited private school facilities in the village, and the community that has not played significant roles.
