Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship betweensoft skills problem solving with job readiness in the final students of the Faculty of Psychology, Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The hypothesis is that there is a positive relationship between problem solving soft skills and job readiness in final students. Subject 101 students consist of 52 students of class 2015 and 49 students of 2016. The study population was students of 2015 and 2016, the Faculty of Psychology, UMS, consisting of a class of 2015 totaling 261 and a class of 2016 totaling 245 people. The sampling technique uses Incidental Sampling. The data collection tool uses a problem solving scale and a work readiness scale. Data analysis techniques usingSpearman's product moment correlation technique. The results of the analysis obtained that there is a significant positive relationship between problem solving soft skills and job readiness. The higher the problem solving soft skills, the higher the work readiness, on the other hand, the lower the problem solving soft skills, the lower the work readiness. This is indicated bycorrelation coefficient = 0.546 with sig. = 0.00 (p <0.01). The category of soft skill problem solving is classified as high and category working readiness classified as moderate. The effective contribution (SE) of the soft skill problem solving variable was 29.8%. It can be said that the influence of the soft skill problem solving variable on job readiness is 29.8%, the remaining 70.2% is influenced by other variables outside the study. By using the stepwise method The results obtained from the evaluation and revision aspects, analyzing the possible causes and assumptions have a relationship with the skill aspect with sig .000, then the aspect of choosing the best solution has a relationship with sig .027, these three aspects have a strong influence on the skill aspects of the work readiness variable.
