Abstract

The aim of this study is to improve the mathematical communication of students using the model of Problem Based Learning (PBL) based on Creative Problem Solving (CPS). The type of research used is classroom action research. The classroom action research is implemented in two cycles. The technique data analysis in this research uses : data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclucion. To check validty of the data collection, this research uses technique triangulation. The result of research shows an improving in students mathematical communication with indicators : 1) Students ability to explain mathematical ideas through writing before the action (36,36%), in the cylce I (57,57%), and in the cylce II (81,81), 2) Students ability to communicate mathematical ideas orally or discuccion before the action (27,27%), in the cylce I (48,48%), and in the cylce II (72,72%), 3) Students ability to communicate mathematical ideas with mathematical languages appropriately using mathematical notations before the action (33,33%), in the cylce I (51,51%), and in the cylce I I (75,75%), 4) Students ability to communicate mathematical ideas through mathematical models before the action (30,30%), in the cylce I (45,45%), and in the cylce II (69,69%).
