Abstract

The manpower problem is still a serious problem faced by the government. Absorption of labor can be used as a measure of the success of development both nationally and in a region, with the intention that employment in the regions supports the success of national development as a whole. This study aims to analyze the effect of local income, investment, gross regional domestic product, district minimum wages in West Java province in 2017-2018. The data in this study are secondary data. The data analysis method used is panel data with a fixed effect model approach. The results of the study prove that the investment variables and district minimum wages have a positive and significant effect on labor absorption. Meanwhile, gross regional domestic product and own-source revenue have no effect on labor absorption. So that the regional government of West Java province should improve a conducive investment climate in order to be able to open up wide employment opportunities and increase employment opportunities in the province of West Java.
