Abstract
The growing population of an area will have an impact on the need for land. This resulted in the development of land use. The development of land use in an area will be followed by the development of other facilities such as socioeconomic facilities, health and economic facilities. Utilization of land use without spatial planning can lead to inequality between regions. Development is increasing only in one area but the other area is lagging behind. The purpose of this study is to determine changes in regional development in the city of Surakarta in 2008 and 2017, and to find out variations in regional development in 2008 and 2017 in the city of Surakarta. The research method used is secondary data analysis. The type of data used in this study is secondary data obtained from related agencies, namely: BPS Surakarta. Analysis of the data used in this study using a scoring table for each that affects regional development. The indicators referred to are demographic, socio-economic, and infrastructure. The results of this study indicate that the variation in the level of development in the Surakarta City area between 2008 and 2017 is divided into 3 (three) class levels, namely the level of development is decreasing, constant, increasing. The districts that are included in the classification of the level of regional development are decreasing, namely Pasar Kliwon and 5 Laweyan Districts. The sub-district which is included in the classification of the level of permanent development is Serengan. Meanwhile, the sub-districts are included in the class of regional development level in the increasing category, namely Banjarsari and Jebres Districts. The socio-economic aspects that make the development of the Banjarsari sub-district high include the population, the number of school developments, the number of health facilities, the number of transportation facilities, and the number of economic facilities that affect regional development. Jebres Subdistrict has increased due to aspects of the population indicator and transportation facilities.
