Abstract

ABSTRACT The objectives of this study are three (1) to describe principal management in improving teacher professionalism, (2) to describe the success of principal management for teacher professionalism through religious culture, (3) to describe the supporting and inhibiting factors of principal management in improving teacher professionalism through religious culture at SMP IT Az-Zahra Sragen. This type of research is a qualitative field research with a phenomological approach. The location of this research is SMP IT Az-Zahra Sragen. The research subjects were principals, teachers and employees. The research data were obtained through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion / verification. Data validation includes credibility tests (internal validity), transferability (external validity), dependability (reliability) and confirmability. The results of this study (1) Principal management in improving teacher professionalism includes: planning management, organizational management, guidance management, implementation management, supervisory management. (2) Optimizing the success of principal management based on religious culture includes: awareness aspects of social aspects and professional aspects. (3) Supporting factors, obstacles and solutions in the application of school principal management include: the cohesiveness of school members, the human resource factor (Human Resources), the Islamic community, strong motivation to study religion, and mosques. Although there are a small number of employees who are not fluent in reading the Qur'an and lack of Islamic insight due to their common family background. So it is necessary to have Islamic guidance for employees or employees. Keywords: principal management; teacher professionalism; religious culture
