Abstract
The success of an Islamic school and the school superiority or school or education quality requires leadership style and strategy of improvement implemented. The study was conducted to describe, and analyze the democratic leadership style at Muhammadiyah Srebegan Ceper Klaten and Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Sajen Trucuk Klaten and implied in school superiority model. Result showed that through democratic leadership style at MI Muhammadiyah Srebegan Ceper Klaten and MI Muhammadiyah Sajen Trucuk Klaten implied in the school superiority. In implementing their leadership, the principals used management principles, namely input, process and output. The study was descriptive qualitative. The data were collected by interview, observation, and document on the primary and secondary data. The result of the study showed that by implementing democratic leadership style contributed to the superiority of MIM Srebegan Ceper Klaten and MIM Sajen Trucuk Klaten through strategy of input, process and output supported by its similarity and difference. Leadership style and leadership technique of the principals on their school were points to measure and way to improve education quality and school superiority.
