Abstract
Cosmetic products broadcast through online media attract people's attention, so that it is difficult for most people to properly select safe cosmetic products. Moreover, it is supported by goods delivery services in one area or outside the region, which makes it easy for consumers to get goods (cosmetics), without notification that cosmetic products are beneficial or even dangerous to health. With the large number of business actors who dare to sell these products who do not have clarity about the products that cause harm to their consumers, business actors should also pay attention to consumer rights that exist in the Consumer Protection Law to prevent the prevention of consumer rights. Then regarding the losses experienced by consumers, it is fitting to be responsible for the responsibility of business actors for these losses. The research objective is to see and understand more deeply about the legal protection of consumers who use cosmetic products that contain harmful ingredients in online cosmetic purchases. The approach method used based on legal research is to use a normative juridical approach that concentrates on written rules. This research is descriptive in nature in the form of information obtained from cosmetic products that are sold online through labels which are then compared with a legal norm, namely law number 8 of 1999 concerning consumer protection. The results of the study indicate that in selling cosmetics online, business actors must pay attention to consumer rights, and carry out what is the obligation of business actors referred to in the consumer protection law in order to create a healthy relationship between business actors and consumers.
