Abstract

The purpose of this research explains whether the Great Mosque of Central Java has met the criteria as a sharia tourism organizer. The concept of Sharia tourism is the actualization of the concept to Islam where halal and haram values become the main benchmark. The author uses a type of field research with descriptive qualitative methods to look for field data in the form of words and images. The author interviews the manager of the Great Mosque of Central Java to obtain information and overview directly. Nowadays, Mosque is not only a place of worship for Muslims but also a multifunctional place such as an interesting place to travel, the beauty of architecture and history become an attraction in the community in his visit to the Mosque that has a magnificent history and architecture story. Central Java Grand Mosque in Semarang city is a mosque that organizes sharia-based tourism, has many facilities that fit the criteria as a sharia-based tourist attraction. Many objects can be visited when coming to the Great Mosque of Central Java which of course has strict regulations for visitors who come to stay in sharia corridors in the implementation as a tourist attraction. By considering 3 (three) elements, namely Access, attractions, and facilities, the Great Mosque of Central Java meets the criteria as an organizer of sharia-based tourist attractions.
