Abstract
Thematic learning is integrated learning that uses themes to link several subjects. So with this thematic learning students can get meaningful experiences because this learning emphasizes the concept of learning while doing something (learning by doing). Thematic learning procedures consist of thematic learning planning which includes mapping of KI (Core Competencies), compiling syllabus, preparing themes, and preparing RPP (Learning Implementation Plans). Implementing thematic learning consists of preliminary activities, core activities and closing activities. The purpose of this research is to describe the application of thematic learning class II at SDN Bekonang 02. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive study using data collection techniques by interview, documentation and observation. The subjects in this study were the principal, teachers and grade II students of SD Negeri Bekonang 02. The data analysis technique used is through data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study were that thematic learning in grade II could make students more active and gain direct experience of the knowledge they were learning.
