Abstract
The important role of Islamic religious education teachers is to instill Islamic values in students. Islamic religious education teachers are also required to make students with good personalities and be able to practice Islamic values in everyday life. So it is important for teachers of Islamic religious education in coaching in the classroom or outside the classroom to implement specific strategies so that students' practice of Islamic values can be achieved optimally. One of the efforts made by PAI teachers at SMP Negeri 3 Colomadu is by increasing the practice of Islamic values for students. In order for this goal to be achieved, Islamic Education teachers need to implement strategies that are carried out both in the classroom and outside the classroom, supported by the creativity of the teacher in order to find and formulate various strategies. The purpose of this study was to describe the strategy of the Islamic Religious Education Teacher in improving the practice of Islamic values for students at SMP Negeri 3 Colomadu and to describe the supporting and inhibiting factors in improving the practice of Islamic values for students at SMP Negeri 3 Colomadu. This type of research is a field research (Filed research) with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were teachers of Islamic religious education. This approach is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are observation, interview, and documentation. Meanwhile, the analysis used by researchers is deductive analysis. Data validity test used source, technique and time triangulation. The results in this study indicate that the strategies adopted by Islamic Education teachers in improving the practice of Islamic values for Students at SMP Negeri 3 Colomadu include: habituation, improving the quality of Islamic Education learning in class, developing Islamic Education learning through religious activities, building collaboration with the community. While the supporting factors in improving the practice of Islamic values for students are adequate media and tools, the availability of mosques as centers of Islamic education development, the activeness of PAI teachers in fostering students, the School Vision and Mission upholds the implementation of the practice of religious values. As for the inhibiting factors in increasing the practice of Islamic values students are the large number of students, limited coaching time in class, not all parents pay attention to students in daily interactions, lack of religious extracurricular hours, the negative influence of social media networks.
