Abstract

This study aims 1) Describe the implementation of the making of HOTS questions for high-class social studies content at SD Muhammadiyah Plus Malangjiwan, 2) Describe the ability of the teacher to make HOTS type questions for high-grade social studies subject content at SD Muhammadiyah Plus Malangjiwan, 3) Describe the obstacles faced by teachers in making HOTS type questions for high class social studies content at SD Muhammadiyah Plus Malangjiwan. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this study were teachers of grades IV, V, VI, editors and principals. Data collection techniques used interviews and documentation. The data analysis technique is by comparing Bloom's Taxonomy and HOTS question criteria, starting with the data reduction stage, data presentation, and ending with drawing conclusions. The validity of the data used technique and source triangulation. The results showed that 1) implementation of making HOTS questions through three stages; the planning stage, the implementation stage and the evaluation stage, but the implementation is not yet optimal because the teachers are still using the LOTS level KKO. 2) The percentage of social studies questions basic HOTS is still low. 3) The obstacles faced by the teacher include the lack of time for the teacher to compile HOTS questions, not understanding in finding and matching KKO for HOTS questions, choosing KD which is sometimes not quite right; lack of socialization regarding the making of HOTS questions, still making questions with the same model, writing wrong questions over and over again.
