Abstract
The implementation of 21st century character education in elementary schools is a movement to strengthen character education in shaping and developing student character. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive analysis. Collecting data through interviews, observation and documentation. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of character education in mathematics learning. The results showed that the implementation of 21st century character education in mathematics learning in fourth grade students at SD Negeri 2 Sukorejo by integrating it in the Learning Implementation Plan which was then implemented in learning activities in the classroom. These learning activities use various appropriate methods according to the material until an assessment is held at the end to determine the achievement of character education through 21st century skills and observing student behavior in learning with the book "Matur Jujur". This implementation has supporting and inhibiting factors. The supporting factors are in the form of support from the school principal and support from the district government. Inhibiting factors experienced are the lack of control of students in parental supervision, lack of motivation to learn, and student characteristics that differ from one another. Efforts to overcome these factors are in the form of meetings with parents of students to report on their children's progress, providing role models for students, providing opportunities for students to argue in learning activities, and the right solutions from the government, namely in the form of books containing student activities filled with honest activities of students every day.
