Abstract
The label as ex-convicts makes them unacceptable. To deal with such situations, it takes the ability which psychology scientists call resilience. The purpose of this study was to identify and describe the Resilience of Female Prisoners in Class IIB Batang Prison. as well as to find out the factors that support the resilience of female prisoners in the Batang IIB Class Detention Center. The research method used in this research is a qualitative method. The informants who were used as subjects in this study were female prisoners in the Class IIB Batang Prison. Meanwhile, the informant selection technique in this study was selected by means of purpose sampling, namely the sampling technique with certain considerations. Then, the data collection techniques in this study used interviews, while the data analysis techniques in this study used content analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that the resilience of female prisoners in the Class IIB Batang Prison is characterized by the ability of the informant to be able to analyze the problems faced while in the detention center (Rutan), have a sense of optimism which is marked by the desire and aspirations to be realized after The informant is serving a sentence. Then the form of efforts made is by being calm, careful and not reckless in facing problems, positive thinking, self-introspection, being submissive, sincere, entertaining yourself and chatting with friends to find solutions to the problems at hand, empathy forms when looking at the theme Having problems manifested by providing support (support) so that friends can be calmer, provide solutions, provide advice and provide motivation. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the factors supporting the resilience of female prisoners in the Class IIB Batang Prisoners include individual characteristics where each informant is able to control himself, has a sense of optimism and confidence to be able to face the problems at hand so that it can increase informant resilience. In addition, other factors that support the resilience of informants, namely the surrounding environment and institutions where during their detention period at the detention center, the remand center also conducts activities that can support the resilience of prisoners, such as independence development activities and personality development activities.
