Abstract
This study aims to describe: 1) The role of BK officers in providing counseling guidance services at Al-Firdaus SD Surakarta. 2) Counseling guidance service facilities in increasing the confidence and courage of grade V students at SD Al-Firdaus Surakarta. 3) Techniques given by BK officers in an effort to increase self-confidence and courage of fifth grade students at SD Al-Firdaus Surakarta. This type of research is a qualitative research with a qualitative descriptive design. The population of this research is the fifth grade students of SD Al-Firdaus Surakarta. Data collection techniques in this study are using interview techniques, observation and documentation. The data used by researchers in this study are primary data and secondary data. Data sources and resource persons that researchers used in this study were school principals, counselors and students of SD Al-Firdaus Surakarta. The validity of this research data using triangulation of sources and techniques. The results showed that: 1) BK officers act as educators, manager of character education activities, consultants, role models / examples, activity designers, problem solvers. 2) BK room facilities, namely: LCD projector, guidance board, counseling guidance book, counseling guidance schedule and game media. 3) The techniques used by BK officers in conducting guidance and counseling are direct techniques and indirect techniques.
