Abstract
This study aims to describe how the business strategy carried out in travel agents in marketing tourism packages in the tourism industry. In this study researchers used the population contained in the Malinda tour travel agency. But researchers only take a sample in the search for information. Thus the method to be used in this study is a qualitative method that uses interviews and observations to the Malinda Tour bureau as the main method in data collection. Interviews were conducted with the leader and owner of the Malinda tour travel agency. Observations were carried out on Malinda tour consumers without question. Whereas secondary data in the form of theory and other supporting data were obtained from documents and documentation of the Malinda Tour travel agency. All data is used to describe how the business strategy carried out at the Malinda Tour travel agency in marketing tour packages. From the results of the study found that the strategy in deciding the target market is to pay attention to the number of consumers and selected market segments to be the target market are school students who will conduct study tours both work visits and holidays, this is because the target has a high growth rate due to price offered is still easy to reach
