Abstract

Lately, many schools are using the full-day school program, but not all schools can facilitate children to enjoy themselves at school without losing time to play. Moreover, the psychology of elementary school children who are still in their transition from kindergarten and often feel bored in school if forced to study continuously. The objectives of this study are 1) to describe the implementation of teaching and learning activities 2) to know some of the problems and solutions of the teacher in overcoming these problems. This research uses qualitative dengan desain research in the form of library research. The data collection method uses the documentation method. The documentation method uses content analysis. The validity of the data uses the credibility test which includes lengthening observations, continuous observation, increasing persistence. The results of this study are 1) Implementation of teaching and learning activities is carried out from 06.55 to 15.30 for grade 3 to grade 6, while grades 1 and 2 are only until 14.00. 2) The physical and psychological conditions of students during the daytime learning in the full day school program experienced several problems, such as students often complaining of fatigue and hunger during the day. Physical fatigue is also experienced by students who take part in teaching and learning activities in the full day school program. It can be seen during the daytime learning that the student rests his head on the table or behind the chair. Overcoming some problems the teacher makes learning and learning innovations by learning not to use only one source, you can use magazines, newspapers or other media so that students do not get bored during learning. The teacher also uses various learning strategies, such as games, different learning settings and moving classes so that learning is not rigid and fun.
