Abstract
The aim of this study are describing : (1) the role of teacher to improve students’ motivation in social science learning, (2) the role of teacher to create social intelligence in social science learning. The kind of this study is descriptive qualitative research and use collecting data technique by interviewing, documentating, and observating. Technique validity data in this study using triangulation techniques and triangulation of source. Data analysis is uses with data rection, data display, conclusion drawing/verification the result of this study are (1) the role of teacher to improve students’ motivation (a) educate students’ lay teaching manners, (b) teachers should have good attitude for the example of students, (c) the role of teacher in learning as planner, executor, evaluator. (2) teacher’s role to create students’ social intelligence (a) develop students’ situational awarness in the form of being sensitive to the feelings, needs, and rights of others. (b) the teacher is able to provide examples of emphathy, (d) the importance of teachers giving character to students gef a good education and could interact well.
