Abstract

This research is motivated by the reality of life that occurs in Klaseman Hamlet, Kedung Jambal Village, Kec. Tawang Sari, Kab. Sukoharjo regarding the parenting style that is applied in this environment which tends to give freedom to the children which results in the child's condition so that the child has bad morals, such as smoking, arguing against parents, lack of courtesy, and lack of awareness to worship Allah SWT.This study will explain the kinds of parenting styles applied by parents in shaping adolescent morals, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors of parenting. This research belongs to the type of field research, which was carried out in Klaseman Hamlet, Kedung Jambal Village, Kec. Tawang Sari, Kab. Sukoharjo with a phenomenological qualitative approach, the subjects in this study are parents who have teenage children and the object of this research is how the parenting styles are applied by parents in shaping children's morals. The method of data collection in this study was carried out by interviewing, observing, documenting and analyzing data by means of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing, and data validity testing using triangulation techniques.The results of this study indicate that there are 3 parenting styles in the formation of adolescent morals in the area, including authoritarian parenting characterized by strict and assertive parenting attitudes in caring for children, democratic parenting is characterized by a harmonious relationship between parents and parents. children, as well as permissive parenting characterized by parents who give freedom to their children. Parenting style is also influenced by several influencing factors, including parental education, parental experience, socioeconomic status of parents and the environment in which they live. In general, with the differences in each parenting style applied by parents in shaping adolescent morals will affect the moral state of their children, parents will reap the results of what they do in parenting.
