Abstract

IMPLEMENTATION OF PARENTING STYLE IN THE DEVELOPMENT ON ISLAMIC RELIGION TO THE CHILDREN IN FAMILY OF STREET VENDORS IN MEGU GEDE VILLAGE WERU DISTRICT CIREBON CITY, 2020 ABSTRACT The writing of this study aims to: (1) to describe the form of parenting style of the parents who work as a street vendors in Megu Gede Village around Masjid Kramat Megu in Cirebon City. (2) To describe the implementation of parenting styles in the development of Islamic religion to the children at Megu Gede Village. This research is a descriptive study by conducting field research using a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study consisted of five pairs of parents who work as street vendors along the Kramat Mosque, in the village of Megu Gede, Cirebon City. In the process of collecting data, the researcher used the method of observation, interviews and documentation which were then analyzed through four steps, which is triangulation, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results showed that from the five pairs of parents, there were several forms of parenting and also different forms of Islamic religion guidance: (1) There are democratic parenting styles in the couple of Mr. Suherman and Mrs. Miri, as well as in the Islamic religion guidance they provide to their children. (2) The form of mixed authoritarian-democratic parenting adopted by Mrs. Elis and also her late husband, as well as in the Islamic religion guidance given to children is the influence of the authoritarian nature of the late husband combined with the democratic nature of Mrs. Elis. (3) The mixed permissive-democratic parenting style of Mr. Miskad and Mrs. Andon, this can be seen from the form of parenting that tends to be permissive but in the development of Islamic religion to their children is democratic. (4) not so different from Mr. Burhan's parenting style and Mrs Khamidah, who is also a permissive-democratic combination, although in this family it is more permissive-indulgent in nature, but in the guidance of Islamic Religion that is given by this family is quite democratic. 5) In the pair of Mr. Ridwan and Mrs. Ningsih, there is a parenting style that tends to be laissez-faire or permissive-indeferent and this also occurs in the form of Islamic religion guidance given to their children.
