Abstract

Regional development that occurred in Pabelan Village and Gonilan Village had an impact on increasing population, increasing basic needs, and increasing economic growth marked by the appearance of several shopping locations for the community. The choice of shopping locations of the community certainly considers several aspects such as: travel time, price, and distance. The choice is known as the purchase decision process. This study aims to (1) analyze the demographic, social, and economic characteristics of respondents in the study area, (2) analyze the spatial patterns of choice of groceries shopping in the outskirts of the city of Solo, and (3) analyze the dominant factors affecting the selection of groceries shopping in the periphery Solo City. The method used in this study is the method of field surveys through questionnaire interviews. The data used in this study include primary and secondary data. The results showed that the characteristics of the respondents in the study area included: (a) most respondents were of productive age, the sex of the respondents were women, (c) the level of education of the respondents was included in the high category, (d) most of the total dependents of the respondents' family were high, (e) most respondents work as private employees (f) most respondents have high incomes, (g) most respondents already have their own residence, (2) the pattern of expenditure distribution of respondents in the study area has a clustered distribution pattern, and (3 ) Dominant factors based on parameters determining respondents' shopping patterns in the study area include (a) based on respondents' shopping places, the majority of respondents, 232 respondents (62.9%), chose to shop in the modern market, (b) based on respondents' income, hence most respondents have high incomes, ie> IDR 3,000,000 - IDR 4,000,000 a million h 140 respondents (37.9%), (c) based on the level of education, then most of the respondents' education has secondary education (high school, vocational) as many as 253 respondents (68.6%), (d) based on the respondent's employment status, then most of the respondents are private employees totaling 166 respondents (45%), (e) based on the type of respondent's movement, then most of the respondents have the type of Single Purpose Trip movement of 315 respondents (85%), (f) based on distance, then most of the respondents has a moderate distance, which is> 1.5-3 km from the residence of 162 respondents (44%), (g) based on travel time, then most respondents have a low travel time, which is about 20 minutes from the residence number of 330 respondents (89%), and (h) based on the price of goods, the majority of respondents chose shopping places that have cheap prices of 243 respondents (65.9%).
