Abstract
Abstract K. H. Ahmad Dahlan was one of the pioneers of modern education who wanted to release indigenous people from retardation, poverty and destitution. The founder of a modern school called Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Diniyyah Islamiyyah in Kauman. The founder of the Muhammadiyah organization aims to reinterpret Islamic teachings and perfect religious practices whose movement focus is education and health. The concept of K.H. Ahmad Dahlan education is to emphasize western learning patterns and combined with religious values. The concept of education by K.H. Ahmad Dahlan has three keys, namely the dimension of reason, the dimension of righteous action/ charity, and the dimension of advanced. In the epistemology review of education, K.H. Ahmad Dahlan's thinking puts reason in a very important position. The purpose of this research is to describe the concept of reason in kh's view. Ahmad Dahlan and to formulate the implications of reason in Islamic education according to K. H. Ahmad Dahlan. This type of research is to study library research by studying data from books, journals, magazines and so on related to K. H. Ahmad Dahlan. The Research approach used is a historical approach by investigating past facts and data through interpretation, explanation through critical thinking of research. The result of this study is: 1) The concept of reason according to K. H. Ahmad Dahlan is to use reason in accordance with the purpose of human creation, namely always remember the instruction given by Allah SWT so that it can subjugate his lusts and man can come out of distress and oalpaan, 2) Implications of the concept of Reason in Islamic education according to K. H. Ahmad Dahlan set out in the purpose of education, curriculum and learning methods. The purpose of his education is to form a civilized Muslim human being, as well as be active in the fight to advance people's lives. In order to achieve the objectives of education, it is necessary to create a curriculum with islamic frame of thinking as a principle to understand general science and also maintain the principle of balance. The learning methods used to activate students are dialogue methods and contextual methods by providing understanding and awareness of the importance of islamic thought frameworks.
