Abstract
Indonesia, the phenomenon of aggressive driving is not a new phenomenon, one of the phenomena of aggressive driving that is currently occurring often includes honking the horn repeatedly, speeding, giving harsh signals and others. When that aggressive behavior occurs, every driver must have a system that can help to direct and control behavior, that system is self-control. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the independent variable (self-control) and the dependent variable (aggressive driving) on online motorcycle taxi drivers. The hypothesis proposed is that there is a negative relationship between self-control and aggressive driving. This research method uses correlational quantitative. The population in this study were online motorcycle taxi drivers in the Surakarta area, male and aged 18-40 years. The sampling technique used snowball sampling, to get respondents, the researcher first got five people as the main data source, each of which provided information about subjects that met the criteria to become research subjects, at the second level, 48 subjects were obtained then continued to the The next level obtained 67 subjects and for six days 120 respondents were obtained. Data collection tools used in this study used a self-control scale and a scale of aggressive driving which was distributed via google form. Data analysis was performed by analyzing the product moment correlation using SPSS 16.0 for windows. Based on the data analysis between self-control variables and aggressive driving, the coefficient (rxy) value is -0.719 and sig. (p) of 0.000 (p <0.01), which indicates a very significant negative relationship, which means that the higher one's self-control, the lower the level of aggressive driving and vice versa, the lower the level of self-control, the higher the level of aggressive driving. The level of self-control in online motorcycle taxi drivers is high and the level of aggressive driving in online motorcycle taxi drivers is low.
