Abstract
The aim of this research are to examine and analyze: (1) the influence of Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) learning approach on learning mathematics outcomes. (2) the influence of students’ mathematical problem solving abilities using the Polya steps on learning mathematics outcomes. (3) the existence of interaction between Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) and students’ mathematical problem solving abilities using the Polya steps on learning mathematics outcomes. This type of research is quantitative with posttest only control design. The population of this research is all students seven grade junior high school students of SMP Negeri 2 Kartasura academic year 2019/2020. The research sample used two classes, the first class using Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) learning approach and the second class using conventional learning approach. The sampling in this study used cluster random sampling technique. The data collection using test and documentation methods. The research using two path variance analysis techniques with unequal cells. With a significance level of 5%. The result of the study were obtained: (1) there is not influence of the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) learning approach on mathematics learning outcomes. (2) there is influence of students’ mathematical problem solving abilities using Polya step on mathematics learning outcomes. (3) there is no interaction between the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) learning approaches and students’ mathematical problem solving abilities using the Polya step towards mathematics learning outcomes.
