Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine differences in learning outcomes of Grade VII students based on learning styles. This type of research is quantitative with a comparative causal research design. The population of the study was 146 students of grade VIII of MTs Negeri Surakarata 1. Samples were taken in 2 classes, namely classes VIII A and VIII B. The sampling technique uses cluster random sampling. Data collection techniques with questionnaires and documentation. The analysis technique used is one-way analysis of variance with unequal cells. Based on the results of research with a significance level of 5%, obtained: (1) Mathematics learning outcomes of students of class VIII A is better when compared to students of class VIII B (2) Students with visual learning styles have better learning outcomes compared to students with learning styles auditory and kinesthetic, (3) Students with auditory and kinesthetic learning styles have the same learning outcomes.
