Abstract
Mid and end semester assessments aim to measure the achievement of students' competencies in the middle and end of the semester. The cognitive aspects measured in the PTS and PAS questions refer to the educational goals of the cognitive domain of Bloom's Taxonomy. The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of the odd semester Middle and End Semester assessment questions for science class 7 students of SMPN 2 Karanganyar who have fulfilled the character of high order thinking skill (HOTS) or higher thinking. This type of research is descriptive. The sampling technique in this study was saturated sampling using documentation. The results of this study indicate that there are 23% of the PTS questions in grade 7 who meet the HOTS perspective, and 37.5% of the PAS questions from grade 7 so that it can be concluded that the PTS and PAS questions in grade 7 are still classified as low.
