Abstract

The development of travel blogging trends, social media, as well as booking comfort and digital transportation makes it easy for tourists and causes tourism potential to be excellent in Indonesia. The Ministry of Tourism has also projected that Indonesia's tourism sector in the following years will become Indonesia's main source of foreign exchange. To achieve these targets, it is required to implement the 3A strategy, namely encouraging, accessibility and amenities to build a tourism ecosystem.The rise of home-sharing trends around the world has underpinned the idea of developing amenities including lodging or commonly called homestay as a means of infrastructure that is quickly developed and laden with local wisdom.On the other hand Boyolali Regency is a nature-based tourism city in Central Java. Most of the attractions in Boyolali Regency are on the eastern slopes of Mount Merapi and Merbabu, namely Selo which has provided its natural attractions so that it is visited by many tourists.One that is very much needed is the existence of homestays. The homestay design byutilizing the abundant natural potential in Selo is suitable for use with the Biophilic Concept. Where the concept is intended to predicate the continuity of a healthy human life physically and mentally and integrate between humans and nature. The many phenomena of mental illness due to stress, pressure, and bankruptcy of monotonous life routines also lie behind the choice of this biophilic concept.The planning and design of this homestay aims to implement the existing values in biophilic theory and exploit the existing natural potential. The method used is to discuss literacy theory and determine the appropriate toeri for use in design strategies ranging from site selection, managing space and space quality, arranging mass and mass management, and determining the appearance of buildings.Biophilic design methods and analysis processes are carried out to produce homestay designs that can optimize the healing / relaxation process and relax by connecting with nature to its users.
