Abstract

Learning media is a tool to improve the teaching and learning process to achieve better learning outcomes. Science teachers need to master the selection of learning media to help make it easier for students to learn science which includes physics and biology. This study aims to determine the Use of Learning Media for Class VII Science Teachers at State Junior High School 2 and 3, Sawit Boyolali District, 2019/2020 academic year during the Covid 19 pandemic. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The sample used was 2 science teachers class VII Junior Secondary School 2 and 3 Sawit, namely 1 teacher from Junior Secondary School 2 Sawit and 1 teacher from Junior High School 3 Sawit with 1 teacher each. The data collection technique is by using documentation and interview method. The results of this study indicate that the type of media used in Middle School 2 Sawit on the material of the solar system includes projected visuals of silence (powerpoint, flashlight, football, paper, markers, globe, pencil, pimpong ball), while in Junior High School Negeri 3 Sawit the type of media used in the material for the organization of life using projected silent visuals (powerpoint) and realia (microscopes, preserved preparations, torso, and plants). The reasons for using media in Sawit 2 and 3 Junior High Schools are to facilitate students' understanding, the media is available in schools, increase student interest in learning, create a different (more active) classroom atmosphere, and foster student learning motivation. Constraints in learning at Sawit Junior High School 2 and 3 do not come from teachers who cannot use media, but come from students because they have different characteristics and characters.
